                       STANLEY HARRISON

Stan hails from Wilmington DE. and now lives in South Plainfield N.J. 
His early musical training was with John Clatch in 5th and 6th grades and again with John Clatch at St. Marks High School near Wilmington.

During High School Stan played in the Marching, Concert and Jazz bands.
  After High School Stan attended Wilmington Music School  for two years studying with classical teacher John Zimney while taking theory classes and performing in the adult jazz workshop lead by Bob Bosick.

After Wilmington Music School Stan continued jazz studies for a year with  Robert 'Boysie' Lowery. Boysie was the teacher of Wilmington jazz legend Clifford Brown and was sought out by professional musicians from around the world for lessons.

After Boysie, Stan was a Member of the Christina Cultural Arts Center Jazz workshop ensemble. 
Stan has performed in many bands in the Wilmington De. and Philadelphia area over the years. He has played in the big bands of the Noteables, The Generations,  and the Joe Dawson Orchestra.  Stan has also performed with a Wilmington  based rock group called the Rockodiles,  was the leader of the Stan Harrison group, a 6-piece contemporary and traditional jazz group, was a member of Variable Elements, a Philadelphia acid jazz group, performed with the Dave Dietch Latin Jazz Project in West Chester Pa., and free lanced with Philly professional guitarist Tony Forliano.

Stan is interested in many styles of jazz and music in general but is particularly interested in a more contemporary style of jazz.
